Infra red control with Co2 motors
Co2 motors are light and powerfull but most importantly they make a nice nice while running!!
We dont have any experience of using Co2 motors but Lasse Britts and Johan Burling in Sweden are going to have-a-go with some stick and tissue machines. There are plenty of plans and kits about and you can by a Gasparin motor just about any where on the planet. The power for the electronic control system will come from a large capacitor, see infra red rubber power web page for more details.
The control system will add about 3.5 g to the flying weight. Lasse says he has a successful old monplane of his own design,
the weight with the Gasparin G28 will be 15 grams. It is made from stick and tissue, carbon 0.3 mm rods, mylar, and jap tissue. We wait for photos and more news in a couple of weeks, they hope to be at the Swedish nationals in AMA club on the 11 of November with a Deperdussin Peanut with CO2 and IR. Lets hoep it all goes well
